Love for my Island Treasury!

There are indeed words that one can receive from total strangers and that make an artist's heart rejoyce...
As you know, my friends, I really love the Greek Islands and they are a part of my heart. Yesterday's Treasury was a tribute to this love. And when I got these messages from two Greek artists living abroad I felt I had communicated what I had in my heart... It was exactly the same feeling like creating a piece and hearing it moved somebody's heart. Thank you girls, you made MY day! And thank you Etsy :)!

Here is Marietta's convo. Marietta is a talented ceramic artist based in Minnesota, US. Her wonderful artwork can be found in her Etsy shop Blue Room Pottery as well as in many galleries allover the world.

Hi Anna,

Your list is just the thing I needed to see as I start the week! You have really made my day my dear! So refreshing, reminding me of my home country and all the beautiful summers I have spent there. Thank you so much, I love it!

I also love your work, I wish you a lot of success!

Cheers,
Marietta

And here is Katerina's comment on my Treasury. Katerina lives in Berlin, Germany but she's originally from Greece. She creates wonderful felted items that she sells in her Etsy shop QaraQul.

You are breaking my heart with this collection!
I want to SEE the SEA!
Indeed it is beautiful! Well done!

SUNNY DAYS, ISLANDS AND RINGS...

Today is a great sunny day! Last week we had a lot of rain and clouds, but I managed to find the perfect moment for some photos of my jewelry! They turned out really great, the light was fantastic! Look how wonderful this glass ring looks... it reflects the light in such a magical way... it really makes me dream about the Aegean sea!
I had bought some wonderful glass hearts in Berlin years ago, and I then decided to make rings out of them! Each glass heart is unique, and as I love them so much I picked one for myself... and that's one of my favorite rings to wear! You should see how it reflects the light on a sunny day... just a dream! The pics here are of the ring I listed for my Etsy shop. I took these pics on my mom's balcony window sill, it's natural stone and the perfect setting for my photo shoots! I'm going to show it better on one of my next posts :)
Curious about the name of the ring?
"DREAMING OF BLUE BLUE SEAS" :)...

Today I also created one more Treasury dedicated to my beloved Greek Islands! Thank you to all the great and talented artists who contributed to this Treasury and made it wonderful!!!

Creative Corner: MAKEOVER!

Does it ever happen to you that you really like what you created, but then you look at it after some time and you suddenly think you'd like it better with a slightly different touch? Well, that happens to me a lot! A small touch can change a piece almost completely as the final result is a different combination...
My TILOS SUN Ring has a focal piece that features a painted sun on a ceramic disk, topped by a blue glass cabochon. The former version of the ring had this focal piece set in crimpled copper sheet, but now looking at it I decided I wanted to have a blue "frame" to recall the color of the cabochon. So I took the copper sheet off and I painted the outer edge in blue.
I cannot say which ring is "better", I can only say the new version suits my present idea better!
This is the "old" TILOS SUN...

And here is the new one!
