ISLAND A WEEK: Aegean Collection - SAMOS

My AEGEAN COLLECTION features rings and pendants that have been inspired by the light and color of my beloved Greek Islands. These pieces are mixed media jewelry, where each piece has a ceramic shard as its focal. For each ring or pendant, I have completed the ceramic shard in a different way, using different materials and techniques such as metal (aluminium or copper) sheet, copper wire, polymer clay and acrylic paints.
Each piece of my Aegean Collection is named after a different island, so I thought I'd introduce them one by one! Welcome to the wonderful world of the Greek Islands of the Aegean!!!
Here is a beautiful and complete website about the Greek Islands:

SAMOS (Greek Σάμος) is a Greek island in the Eastern Aegean Sea, south of Chios, north of Patmos and the Dodecanese, and off the coast of Asia Minor, from which it is separated by a 1.6 kilometres wide strait. The major part of Samos island is covered with pine trees and vineyards. The island abunds in natural beauty in form of picturesque mountain landscapes, beautiful flora and crystalline sea. It is mostly known as a calm family destination. The coastline of Samos island is dotted with small pretty coves with trees that reach till the sandline. Samos has beautiful beaches and a lovely inland, with picturesque villages perched in the mountains, surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful hiking trails for nature lovers.
