MY LITTLE JEWELRY STALL IN RHODES
Those of you who have followed my adventures in Rhodes in the summer may remember my little jewelry stall by the sea... I have lovely memories of that experience, I met so many lovely people from allover Europe, and I love thinking that some of my colorful pieces are now with their owners in Sweden, Finland, Norway, the UK, Russia, Denmark, Belgium... and hopefully bringing them color and happy holiday memories of their time in the Aegean!

A SWEET HELPER
I have a sweet little helper at my stall! In the last few days, a sweet kitty girl has been visiting me around 6 p.m., just a short time before I close my little stall. She is very friendly and clearly used to people, and she loves cuddles! I think she must be one of the "hotel cats" from the nearby hotel. When I walk back after work and having had a cooling swim, I see a couple of kitties waiting close to the terrace where people are dining. A lovely customer from Sweden told me that the hotel is nice to the cats, and she saw bowls for them on the back! Twice I ran to the closest tourist supermarket to buy a can of cat food for the kitty, so yesterday I remembered to bring food with me... :)

MY WORK-PLACE BY THE SEA
Do you remember I promised I would show you my work-place by the sea? Well, that's not exactly the view "from" my work-place, but rather the view OF my work-place... Look at the red push-pins: that's where my little jewelry stall is located! And the view FROM my work-place is coming too! Stay tuned! :)

SYMI TOMORROW!
So tomorrow I will be taking the Dodekanisos Express (high-speed ferry) to Symi! My jewelry exhibition at the Olive Tree Cafe is scheduled on Sunday as a part of the Queen's Jubilee Party, and I will spend a little time on the island and will be back in Rhodes on Monday afternoon. For those of you who haven't seen last year's posts from Symi, here is a preview of the island's views! Symi is an enchanting little island just a few miles off the Turkish coast of Anatolia and quite close to Rhodes too (50 minutes by speed boat). Time seems to stand still here, as mass tourism has never arrived and never will. Wonderful neoclassical houses line the main town's natural harbour, and the white-washed alleys and stairs leading up the hills are just dreamy. The Olive Tree is located in the upper village (Chorio), and it's really more-than-just-a-cafe, as Jenine and Tina offer so much more than lovely drinks and food! They host lots of interesting events, they organize walking tours and even art classes. So this is a great location for my show!

JEWELRY SHOW ON SYMI!
On Sunday, 3 June, the lovely Olive Tree Cafe on Symi (upper village, Chorio) is having a party to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and lovely Jenine and Tina invited me to show my jewelry on this occasion! A part of the proceeds from my sales will go to Symi Animal Welfare. I'm so happy and excited for this wonderful opportunity to show my jewelry at such an amazing location!

SYMI: The Olive Tree
On the magical little island of SYMI, at the top of the Kali Strata in the upper village Chorio, there is a lovely Cafe run by lovely Jenine and Tina. You will feel right at home in this cozy cafe, relaxing in the comfy atmosphere and making new friends.
But this lovely venue is so MUCH more than just a cafe... Besides serving delicious breakfasts, Greek yoghurt with fresh fruit salad, filled rolls and toasted pittas, homemade quiche and frittata, scrumptious cakes, slices and muffins, filled jacket potatoes, a full selection of coffees and freshly prepared juices... Jenine and Tina also organize a variety of exciting events, they have a selection of books and guidebooks you can browse, they will share information and maps on guided walks, beaches, transport, food culture, Symi events and a list of "must dos" whilst on the island, and last but not least they offer you a wireless internet connection to stay in touch with the rest of the world even when you're on this little island.
And this is the lovely place where I'm going to hold my little jewelry exhibition again this summer!
Thank you Jenine and Tina, you made me feel a part of the island community!

GETTING ORGANIZED!
These chilly days are perfect for making creative summer plans!
... inventory building...
... thinking about practical display solutions that are nice and light-weight at the same time (that's very important to me, as most of my jewelry shows are "traveling exhibitions")...
... stocking up on new pieces, including quicker designs such as earrings, that are always a runner!
... checking supplies that can travel and may come in handy for last-minute creations...
I will soon show you a lovely repurpoused earring display that's lightweight and gorgeous! Stay tuned!
