This Week's Finds - Cute Planters!!!

Hello my friends!!!

It seems that I am alone here... well for the next few days. Actually this will be my last post for August, since I will have a small break from everything...work, blog, etsy shop...anything and spend the next days just with my family!

So for this week... I found cute mini planters, unique, beautiful and why not try to buy them or create them. I love flowers, I love succulents and I love everything about gardening! Since the past week I spend many hours with my few plants on my balcony, why not add them also in my blog and have a "fresh" air feeling?

My finds are from etsy and pinterest and I am sure that if you spend a few minutes searching on both sites, you will find beautiful handmade planters to get. Happy shopping!

DIY - Recycling Project, Flower Pot from Tin Cans

Hello my friends!!!!

Spring is here for good and there is no better time to get involved with your flowers. For those of us without a garden, even a small planter with an indoors plant is enough to bring a country air in our house!

What better to do than make original planters with materials we all have laying around in the house, easily and fast, and even let the kids help you. My daughter had so much fun helping me make these! It’s recycling with a beautiful result…

What you are going to need

Tin cans (I used the ones I had from my daughter’s cream)
Newspaper of magazines (whatever you prefer)
Scissors
White glue
Brush
Lace trim
Can opener

Procedure

First you cut the newspaper into middle sized pieces. Try to choose parts of the paper with photos or with “happy articles”.

Dilute the glue with some water. For example use one part glue and one part water. Use the brush to apply the diluted glue onto your tin can and then start gluing the pieces of paper.

Then brush over the paper with some more glue. It is possible that you’ll need two layers or paper in order for the tin can not to be visible at all.

Then brush over the paper with some more glue. It is possible that you’ll need two layers or paper in order for the tin can not to be visible at all.

Just before the glue dries take your lace trim and put it on the tin can. Then brush over it with some more glue. The planter is almost ready. You just have to let it dry for one day.

The last touch on our work is to open 3-4 holes with a can opener in the bottom of the tin can in order for the water to be able to strain away when you water your plant. It is now ready to use!

First put some small pebbles and then add the soil. Lay your plant on top of the soil and add some more accordingly.

It is a pretty, original and recycled item that is sure going to add some joy to your house.

Happy creating!!!

This Week's Favorites - Strawberry !!!!!

Good Morning!!!

Weather is just amazing the past few days and I have a great appetite for strawberries! One of my favorite fruits! I love them with sugar, with chocolate, as a milk shake, as an ice cream or with nothing! I can eat tones of them…. Actually I have tried and created, successfully I must say, a strawberry liqueur hat I will post it in a few days. Just be patient… an easy, fast and amazing recipe for a delicious red drink.

That’s why my finds for this week are full of red…strawberry red… enjoy them :)
