Maria is all of these. FAVORITE BOOKS: Doors, Cats and Windows

I love this tiny little photographic book! It was a present from my sweet cousin Sylvia. She told me she had found it in a lovely bookshop close to the ruins of ancient Olympia, in Greece... and that she had immediately thought about me and that it was made for me! It is truly "made for me"... this booklet shows dreamy images of - as the title says - Doors, Cats and Wondows. And not "just some" doors, cats and windows! All the photos were taken in Greece by photographer Pierre Putelat. It's amazing and incredible how these themes so dear to my heart are enclosed in just one small booklet! I love cats, I love the dreamy blue doors and windows of the Greek islands, and I love Greece!

It is a tiny, moving booklet full of poetry and magic, and it touches my heart every time I get lost in these blues, in these wonderful little corners that are so dear to my heart! Is it magic? Yes, it is. Sylvia can always do that.

Can you tell that it's a great source of inspiration for me??? Oh I can get into the images and just dream away... and be in that dreamy whitewashed alley, or look into that window with blue shutters, and open that blue door onto an enchanted garden, and pet that sweet kitty dozing in the shade...

Cousins by Chance!

My dear readers, you all know I have a sweet, soft kitty girl I adore. And some of you know I have a Special Someone in my life. But there is another special person who makes my life so much brighter every day. She is my Best Friend, my Soul Sister and Sister Soul, my mentor, my number one fan and supporter, she's the one who has called me Annuk all my life and to whom I dedicated my "artist name", she's a woman I admire and I'm inspired by, a wonderful mom, a free spirit, a traveler, a passionate photographer, she makes me laugh, she always believes in me (even when I don't), she is always there for me, she is my "safe haven" in the sometimes scary Ocean of life, she is... well, she is Sylvia. Oh, and by the way, she's my cousin -- but we always say that we are "cousins by chance, best friends by choice"!
We have gone through so many things together, we've shared joy and pain, and we have always found positive ways to help and support eachother. We love chatting and laughing into the wee hours of the night, already in our pajamas and eating soya dessert... we love daydreaming... we love eating pizza at home (can't wait to eat your yoummy pizza again!)... we love singing and dancing watching Greek music videos... we both love the Islands... we love thinking Positive and seeing the Beauty of Life... we love all living creatures... we eat the same things both being veggies... we cry together watching romantic movies... and we have LOADS of fun together!!!!! In my right bar I wrote that this blog is about my sources of inspiration: Sylvia is truly one of them! Sylvia mou, are you ready for my next visit??? :)))

Cousins and best friends!

Here we are! The two famous cousins Anna and Sylvia! We often say we are "cousins by chance": we are so much more than cousins - we are best friends, sisters, kindred souls and each other's greatest supporters! Sylvia is always there for me when I feel down, she always knows how to make me feel better, she believes in me even when I don't, and of course she celebrates my every little success and she rejoyces when I'm happy! Sylvia has always been my #1 fan and supporter, and now I'm going to unveil the "secret" of my art name Annuk for the first time ever! Annuk is the lovely and loving nickname Sylvia has always called me... and I decided to make it my art name in her honor, because she has always been the greatest supporter of my art! I always joked with her telling her that when I'm famous, I'll explain the reason for my "brand name"... Well, I'm not famous yet :))) but I want to share this lovely little "secret" with my creative friends!
This is my little Easter gift to her. Thank you my sweetest soul sister, without you I wouldn't be here.
